ABOUT ME

Greetings!

I am Ljiljana Lončarić Peharda, a designer of textile. I graduated in Design of Textile and Clothes at the Faculty of Textile Technology in Zagreb. I make paintings and illustrations and do textile, graphic and interior design. In my work I am inspired and moved by poetry, music, colour, nature, fabric… but the thing that I am intrigued by and occupied with the most is the communication with the work in the process of making it, with space and material, but also the interaction with other literary, visual, musical works and works of drama. Mutual connection, associativity, permeation of the outer and the inner, the conscious and the subconscious, the visible and the hidden is what gains my attention. I love abstraction, but I also love figuration, collage, photography. I love painting, but I also love digital techniques, the pencil, ink, light and shadow, paper, wood or silk, press and embroidery, and sometimes it can even go all together.

Some of my works are included in the Catalogue of Croatian Illustrators. I have cooperated with Elle Decor, Gala Style, Texitura (Spain), Allure Rug and others. I live and work in Varaždin, Croatia.

On my website I want to present some of my works to you and also share some thoughts on my blog.

I am very glad that I can present the music of my sons, Vedran and Arian on this site. Also, I would like to give a big thank you to my daughter Ada-Nela who is my strictest and most important art critic.
